The Personal Assistant

By Emma Writing prompt used: Your character looks at Death. Death looks at your character. "You're early," Death finally says. "You're early," Death finally says. "Well, it wasn't my fault I was mowed down by a crazy woman riding a cow," I answer, feeling annoyed how Death could even think this was my fault! I'd like to see him  do my job. "I rather enjoyed it. What shall I do with you now?" sighs Death. "Mate, you've known me a long long time, just, you know.....give me some of that life stuff that you keep in your store room," I ask nicely with a big smile. "That's for emergencies, Travis!" "Come on, just a sprinkle?" "I can't give you Vitae again! I may be Death but it isn't me who makes all the decisions around here." "You were the one who sent me on a mission, to kill that woman. You said she had too much life," I sulk. "Just forget it...

This Life - A Short Story by Dottie

I look at Death. Death is looking right back at me, dead in the eyes (excuse the pun). It feels as though each of us is waiting for the other to make the first move.  "You're early", Death finally says. To this, I don't know what to respond. You see, I thought I was right on time. I made it here, I didn't die in vain. I lived a good life. A short one, yes. But it was good. I did the right thing. Yet, as I think about this, I wonder if I'm wrong; I left behind so many people by giving my life away. I did it to save them but in doing so, did I destroy them? I left my family, my friends, my beautiful daughter... All of them without their son, their brother, their wife, their father, their friend. To think of this causes me the most intense pain and sorrow I've ever experienced. But I have seen horrors, terrible things. I myself have had to do some terrible things in order to ultimately survive... If I hadn't done what I did, I suppose I would never...

Dottie's July Favourites...

Hey guys, so for this week's posts, the girls and I have decided to start off with something nice and simple, a favourites post. Since I don't play video games, I decided to change that one to makeup and skincare, so there we are... Films/TV Shows This month, I finished watching all of the Gilmore Girls episodes that are currently on Netflix, including the Netflix original ' Year in the Life'  mini-series. It's something super easy to put on as background noise, or to just binge watch. Gotta love American sit-coms.  Music I've been super into both Paolo Nutini and Passenger this month! Look at Passenger's Night Vision Binoculars and New Shoes by Mr Nutini. Love those! Purchases I've actually not bought loads this month! But, I did buy some Barry M nail paints, including the Speedy Quick Dry in the shade ' Pit Stop'  which actually matches the walls where I work, but I love it nonetheless! Makeup/Skincare/Bath Products ...

July Favourites with Emma

Hello! It's often nice to reflect back on the month so here are my July favourites: Tv Show This month I caught up on all the Game of Thrones seasons. A fantastic fantasy-drama series with twists at every turn. If you like epicness then this is for you. I love fantasy anyway and this was exactly what I wanted. I will not say anymore so not to spoil it! Music I have re-sparked my love for JLS , a British boy-band who were X Factor runner-ups in 2008. They can sing, they can dance and they have upbeat, feel-good songs. What more could you want? It is a shame they split a few years ago! I understand they may not be everyone's cup of tea these days but when listening to them I felt nostalgic and have now bought their 'Goodbye' album which is amazing. I have to mention my favourite songs on the album called 'Take a chance on me,' 'Everybody in Love,' and 'One Shot.' Purchases At the beginning of the month I went to Beddgerlert ( click on th...

Monthly Favourites- July (Victoria)

Hello, Each month, we are each hoping to do a ‘Monthly Favourites’ post, and so as we are drawing near to the beginning of August, the following are some of my favourite things that I have experienced in July: Films/TV Shows : ‘The Boy in Striped Pyjamas’ is about a young boy called Bruno who, after moving near a concentration camp due to his father’s work promotion, befriends a Jewish boy from inside the camp. Films that are based on true-events always hit me the hardest, and despite rarely crying at films, from mid-way onwards I was sobbing and my heart ached knowing that 11 million people were killed in these concentration camps. Despite being upsetting, I think it’s important to watch things like this as it is educational, informative and deserves to be addressed. Music: As somebody who adores musicals (and is finally beginning to move on from the ‘Beauty and the Beast’ live-action soundtrack), my love has turned to ‘The Addams Family’ musical after seeing a behind-...
